ADULT SCHOOL

The Santanyí Town Hall created the adult school in January 2000 to address the education and training needs of a large portion of the population, who work either directly or indirectly in the tourism sector. A lot of people are employed by companies who benefit from tourism because they work in construction or leisure. The courses are taught in CP Blai Bonet in Santanyí and in CP Santa Maria del Mar in Cala d'Or. The adult school offers a wide range of language courses (Catalan, Spanish for foreigners), computer courses (Internet, Word, Access, Excel) and other courses if requested by the participants. Registration is open to people aged 16 or more. An average of 220 students attends the courses every year with very satisfactory results. The courses begin in late October, after the end of the tourist season, and finish in mid April, just before it begins.
