The user’s rights and obligations in regards to access and viewing of the archives documents are regulated by current legislation.

 

Access and viewing limitations are those provided by the legislation, as well as the guarantee of document preservation and the right to honour and intimacy for people.

The regulations are the tool that defines the functions and activities of the municipal archives.  

 

It describes the aims and functions of the archives (collect, preserve, organize and distribute the documents produced in the municipality), as well as other rights and obligations of both users and administration.

The ordinance was published in the Official Bulletin of the Balearic Autonomous Region and the part regarding the municipal archives was implemented on 1 January 2002.
