The Santanyí music school has been developed to satisfy the musical interests of the largest number of people from an educational and cultural point of view.

The study programmes accommodate students of all ages, starting at the early age of 4 years.

Its flexibility allows the integration of students with different interests and abilities, as well as simultaneously covering different music styles. In this site we want to offer a clarifying, comprehensive approach to the school’s learning contents and methods.

The musicians of the Santanyí Band, of which we ignore the date of foundation, precede the Santanyí music school. They used to pass on their musical knowledge to the local children. The school has evolved slowly. It has gone from having a teacher and a dozen students to having 211 students and a staff of 30 teachers in the 95/96 course. It has also gone from not having an adequate, permanent centre to having a modern building designed exclusively for teaching music.

The school welcomes both small children (aged 4 and above) and 80 year olds. There are no limits!

The music school is accredited by the Department of Education and Culture of the Balearic Government.

Facilities

The music school is located in carrer de Palma nº29 of Santanyí in a modern building designed exclusively for teaching music.

It has a functional auditorium that can hold many different events with a capacity of 100-150 people depending on the hall configuration. The sonority is very appreciated by many professional musicians, some of them internationally renowned, both from the Balearics and abroad.

The classrooms and the administrative services are located in the first floor. All classrooms have natural light and are sound proof.

The building has a courtyard with grass where events can be held during summer.
